"A vision of transparencies in the interlocking play of minimal geometric elements, a jagged effect of refractions upon a form that remains impassive and detached from any change, defines the refinement of Tomoyo Haneishi’s compositions. A Japanese artist educated in the effective style of a sober modernism with a timeless flavor—precisely for this reason remarkably convincing in its meticulous precision.
From a serial language, Tomoyo draws the pleasure of varied repetition, and an inner monologue unfolds, through visual allusions, the dialectic of feeling: ‘wave’, ‘fire’, ‘direction’ are some of the recurring titles that accompany the surface of oil-painted works and a constructive process based on interlocking wood, canvas, and plastic materials.
The images enclosed in this kaleidoscopic pandemonium speak a soundproofed language that transmits the inner vibrations of the harmonic chamber connected to the architecture of the whole.
The music of geometry is Tomoyo’s aesthetic wager—who, through the rigorous control of space, manages to express and make recognizable the ever-renewing formal variation of emotion."
